SV Legal Training’s core training focuses upon teaching businesses how to use the courts for debt recovery. I have been approached by a number of businesses looking for something that deals with the credit control process leading up to that litigation stage.

During lockdown, alongside my fee earning and management, I took on the credit control role as the firm credit controller was furloughed. This gave me hands on experience of the credit control function, and seeing first hand the tricks and tells problem debtors present.
In the training, I share my experience of credit control and give recommendations from a litigator’s point of view, as how to best approach the credit control process.
The course consists of bite size modules including:
- The basics and fundamentals
- Creating an effective credit control system
- The formal letter of claim
- Dealing with offers
- Dealing with disputes
- Things to consider if there is no response at all
- Steps to take to help prevent unpaid invoices and cash flow problems
The training provides precedent letters and email content to download and keep, along with links to key resources.
